Venue: Gaddafi Stadium Lahore

Gaddafi Stadium Lahore is one of the oldest and biggest stadium in Pakistan. It was built back in 1959 and was designed by civil engineer and architect Nasreddin Murat Khan. It is completely owned by Pakistan Cricket Board PCB and it is the first Pakistani cricket stadium in which modern floodlights along with the backup power generators were installed.

It has hosted hundreds of International and domestic matches along with the Pakistan Super League and PSL 2 2017 final.

• First test match was played here between Pakistan and Australia in November 1959.
• First ODI match was played here between Pakistan and England in January 1979.
• First T20I match was played here between Pakistan and Zimbabwe in May 2015.

Gaddafi Stadium Lahore Seating Capacity

Initially when the stadium was created, the seating capacity remained 65,250 until the renovation work done in 1995-96. As of now, the seating capacity of gaddafi stadium Lahore is 27,000. Plastic chairs were installed in all of the enclosures instead of seating on concrete benches.
The stadium saw many routine renovation works after that and was recently again overhauled before the arrival of PSL.

The basic shape of the stadium is circular and of about 260 meters in diameter. The boundary length of gaddafi stadium is about 75-80 meters from center pitch. However it can be decreased or increased depending upon the type of cricket played here.
